Since his third place finish at the Augusta National in the Masters on April 9th, Tiger Woods has not played. Since the passing of Tigers father Earl Woods, things have been more of a reality check for the PGA’s Megastar. Tiger Woods does,however, intend on playing at the US Open between the 15th-18th of June.

Tuesday Tiger Woods was just outside Little Rock, at the Alotian Club where he made his first appearance that was related to golf. Woods was giving to his younger fan base, as there was a clinic for the Inaugural Jackson T. Stephens Charitable Golf Tournament. Children from the Stephens supported charities watched and listened to this golf, great as he offered advice to young golfers on

the mechanics of swings.

Ireland has some of the most impressive golf courses in the world. Here are 5 reasons to book your vacation.

The Ballybunion Courses, both Old and Cashen, are a must see and play for any serious golfer. Located in the Southwest of Ireland, County Kerry, the course is 65 miles from Shannon and presents a lovely drive to get there. The town of Ballybunion welcomes with a statue of President Clinton in full golf swing. The Old course is said to remind visitors of St. Andrews, and Cashen, built in 1984, is described by one site as “a theatrical event all its own, and a highlight of any golfing visit to Ireland.”

I was able to watch the 2007 PGA Masters from Thursday’s first round and watch Zach Johnson a rookie from the USA Team of the 2006 Ryder Cup hold his own against the best of the best in the game of golf at Augusta National when Augusta was arguably the toughest it has been in close to 20 years. What impressed me most about Zach is the focus in the present he displayed at the tender age of 31 in front of huge galleries, TV cameras airing to over 190 countries around the world and, playing against his idols on a course he walked around as a guest following one of his idols Phil Mickelson only a few years ago

dreaming of once playing on this famed course.

A place where winning golfers get green jackets, Augusta, Georgia has a long history from the American Revolution to racial segregation. Anyone relocating to Augusta will see a mid-sized Southern city that has undergone some changes in recent years.

Augusta is located about halfway up the Savannah River where navigable waters end. The city expanded in 1996 after joining Richmond County to form a single government known as Augusta-Richmond County. However, the consolidated community remains to be called Augusta. Bordering South Carolina, Augusta is the second largest city in the state. In the five years since the 2000 census, the estimated population declined 2.3% to 190,782 people. With over 300 miles of land, city residents now have plenty of elbow room.

The population density is significantly below average for cities with just 648 residents per square mile. According to U.S. Census figures in 2005, the average age of residents was 33.8 years, with 53% of the population claiming African American heritage. Another 41.3% of the people were White non-Hispanic. The average household size was 2.5 people. Families made up 66% of the households, 40% married couples.
